Finals for all Students are February 1,2 & 3. February 1 & 2 are shortened days, school dismissed at 1:27. February 3rd school is dismissed at 12:27. MONDAY, February 6, 2012 is the first day of the spring semester and it is a full day of instruction for all students. School begins at 8:00 and ends at 3:15pm. |

Friday Night Lights PEP Rally, Games and Food Trucks Event to be held on Friday, January 27, 2012 from 3:30 to 7:30. Once again we will turning on our lights in our new football stadium to host a Girls Soccer game. Boys Basketball will also have games at 5:30 and 7:00. Our Gourmet Food Trucks will be Mangia, BeSweet, Islands,and one more new truck. The event will be held in the new gym parking lot. Come out and purchase a lovely meal, watch a game or just talk with community and school members!! This is a General Family Happening! |

George Washington Preparatory High School Music & Performing Arts Magnet and STTAF Presents Our Annual Black History Production: "A Celebration of Hope"Hope Foye “An American Treasure” be performed as a tribute to Hope and her legacy. Directed by award winning director and Broadway veteran, Dr. Melanie Andrews in partnership with Grammy Award winning pianist Anthony Llorens, this Black History event promises to both entertain and inspire! The featured performers include: rising African-American Soprano, Talia Moore; Pop Soloist, Ashley Rae; Tenor, Emiliano Preciado; LAUSD Secondary Arts Coordinator, Dr. Steven McCarthy; Inglewood Org Choir; and Flourish Dance Crew. What: Annual Black History Production, A Celebration of Hope Where: Washington Preparatory High School Dream Theatre When: February 10 & 11 @ 7:00 pm ( February 11 will have special guest artists) Tickets: $ 7.00 for students, $10. 00 for adults, or two for $7.00 presale from a cast member. OUR PRESTIGIOUS DRAMA PROGRAM DOES IT AGAIN AT THE CALIFORNIA THEATRE FESTIVIAL COMPETITION. Congratulations to Dr. Andrews and our drama students for winning first place in Best Ensemble for "Positive Secrets". This play was performed by our students as part of our Second Annual Fall Repertory Festival, Thought ProvokingTheatre" Our students performed excerpts of this at the festival. Javier Barbosa, won best actor at the California State Theater Festival. Over 600 hundred schools competed in the State wide event!! Under the direction of Dr. Andrews and our stellar drama students our program continues to excel. Congratulations to all!!! You won't want to miss our next performances with this outstanding students, A Celebration of Hope on February 11 & 12th @ 7:00 pm and our Spring Musical, "Zoot Suit", April 20, 21,22, 2012. Prep is to Unveil Stadium in mid-January! Generals this is an early special announcement, on January 11, 2012 our boys' soccer team will have their first ever night game on the NEW prep field. This night will also be the unveiling of the recently remodeled stadium, lights, and stands. We will have food trucks and loads of fun. The entire school is invited! The girls will also have their debut on the field on January 27. Please save the dates. Hope to see you there! |
